Denver Broncos @ Seattle Seahawks
Lumen Field (Seattle, WA)
Monday September 12, 2022
Kickoff - 08:15 PM EDT
Who Wins and Why:
Russell Wilson makes his much anticipated return to Lumen Field tonight as the Denver Broncos open their season against the Seattle Seahawks. As of this off-season, both teams are on very different trajectories. Wilson and his new team are built to win now while the Seahawks appear to be in major rebuild mode.
Like I previously said, Wilson and the Broncos are built to win now and I expect them to do just that in this matchup. It will be interesting to see how comfortable Wilson is in his first action in a Broncos uniform (he did not play in the preseason), but I can’t say I expect the game to be very close. The Broncos have a top 10 defense and added a top 10 quarterback in Wilson to an offense with plenty of firepower. The Seahawks on the other hand are operating with Wilson’s old backup in Geno Smith and have a bottom of the barrel unit on defense. I see Denver abusing Seattle’s weak secondary all game long in this matchup.
Final Score Prediction: Denver 30 Seattle 10
